We encourage players to choose immersive, lore-friendly names for characters, guilds, and pets. The following are prohibited:
Public communication channels (World, Trade, Say, etc.) may be monitored by Epoch Game Moderators. While private channels (Guild, Whisper, etc.) are not actively monitored, players should remember that most prohibited speech behavior rules apply to these channels as well. Players encountering unwelcome content in private channels are encouraged to use in-game tools such as the ignore and leave features first. Players encountering unwelcome content in public channels are encouraged to use in-game tools such as the ignore first.
Treat all members of the community with respect. Actions that harm the server’s reputation or disrupt the community, such as by intentionally disrupting organized RP events, will result in moderator action.
Project Epoch is an English-speaking community. Use English to communicate in public channels. The only exception is guild recruitment messages, which may use other languages. Private channels may use any language.
The following type of speech and communication behavior is prohibited:
The following game behaviors are always prohibited:
When necessary, Project Epoch Game Moderators will take action to curtail prohibited player behavior. Depending on the severity of the violation, penalties may include warnings, mutes, temporary suspensions, loss of in-game items or rewards, or permanent bans. Repeat offenders face harsher consequences. Severe violations may result in an IP ban, affecting all accounts using that IP. Players filing reports about rule violations are encouraged to provide proof of violation such as timestamps of when the behavior occurred and where, or by providing proof of violation with screenshots, or videos. Filing violations with false reports will result in penalties.
Project Epoch provides an in-game GM ticket system to report bugs, issues, and behavioral infractions by filing reports about rule violations. Abuse of this system with frivolous requests and GM harassment will result in penalties may lead to a ban.
Appeals must be submitted via our website and must include the character name, account email, and why you believe the ban was issued in error. Do not file appeals on behalf of other players. Do not spam appeals. Repeat appeals without new evidence will be closed.
In general, items cannot be restored unless they were lost due to a game issue or bug. GMs cannot assist with recovering items lost via player error or add-ons that autosell items. GMs will not intervene in loot disputes unless they involve prohibited behavior, such as Trade Ghosting.
You may submit a restoration ticket using a different character on the same account for the purpose of restoring a deleted character; however, there is no guarantee that the character can be fully restored, especially the name of the character. Characters that fail Soul of Iron cannot be restored to before they failed the challenge. Unfortunately, we are unable to restore Soul of Iron characters from deaths that occur due to server or game issues.
Project Epoch reserves the right to modify our server and community rules without prior notice. Changes will be announced publicly on Discord and our website. GMs may take actions not explicitly listed here in unique situations to prioritize the community’s well-being.
