Epoch Time

In Project Epoch, time moves differently. No longer tied to a real-world clock, the world breathes with its own rhythm — faster, more dynamic, and full of surprises. Whether you're adventuring at dawn, dusk, or under starlit skies, time is now an integral part of the world's experience.

Flowing Clock

In Project Epoch, the world no longer sits under a static clock. Epoch Time accelerates Azeroth's day and night cycle into a 3 to 4-hour loop, with subtle randomization to keep it feeling unique. This allows players from every time zone to experience dynamic sunrises, brilliant midday light, and atmospheric moonlit nights—all within a single play session.

Adaptive World

Unlike the static world of retail WoW, Epoch Time lets us design content that changes with the hour. From guards lighting lanterns to fishermen packing up at dusk, the world breathes with life. Entire quests and encounters are available only at certain times of day, rewarding players who explore the world around the clock.

Atmospheric Overhaul

Epoch Time is more than just a faster clock — it's a chance to completely reimagine Azeroth's atmosphere. We've reworked lighting in many zones to make night feel truly immersive: darker shadows, cooler tones, and vibrant skies filled with stars and Azeroth's twin moons. Whether you're traveling through misty forests or bustling cities, nighttime now feels alive, mysterious, and unforgettable.

Living Wilderness

Whether stalking the forest at night or roaming the plains by day, creatures respond to the passing hours. You might discover nocturnal beasts lurking in familiar zones after dark or stumble upon rare daytime spawns. These shifting opportunities make exploration and hunting feel alive and ever-changing.

Temporal Mechanics

Epoch Time even touches your abilities and items. Certain racials now react to daylight or darkness—imagine Night Elves gaining subtle bonuses under moonlight. Items, too, gain new depth: a trinket might boost your intellect when the sun is up, but shift to enhancing spirit at nightfall. This system encourages players to adapt and plan around the changing cycle.
