PvP is a core pillar of Project Epoch, and we've made sweeping changes to ensure it thrives—even on our PvE realm. From systemic overhauls to tailored incentives, we've built a world where battle is always an option, never an afterthought.
PvP is a core pillar of Project Epoch, and we've made sweeping changes to ensure it thrives—even on our PvE realm. From systemic overhauls to tailored incentives, we've built a world where battle is always an option, never an afterthought.
Project Epoch may be a PvE realm at heart, but World PvP remains a cornerstone of the experience. Warmode allows you to opt into persistent PvP by speaking to an NPC in your faction’s capital city, flagging you for combat anywhere in the world. In exchange for the risk, you’ll earn bonus experience, reputation, and — once the Call to War patch arrives — extra Honor. You can disable Warmode at any time, but doing so comes at a gold cost that scales with your level, ensuring that the choice to retreat is not made lightly.
With Warmode active, every skirmish becomes more than just a battle—it becomes a chance at riches. Players who score World PvP kills will have a chance to loot Bloody Tokens, a special currency earned only through bloodshed on the open field. These tokens can be turned in at the heart of your faction’s war camp—Orgrimmar or Stormwind—for a variety of exclusive rewards. Claim the coveted Bloodthirsty title, unlock cosmetic pets and tabards, customize your hearthstone with unique glyphs, or gear up with world PvP tools like a mount-slowing net gun. In Warmode, style and strategy go hand in hand.
On Project Epoch, Major World Bosses are high-stakes PvPvE encounters that ignite large-scale conflict. Five minutes before one spawns, a zone-wide alert goes out, and when the boss arrives, the entire area becomes PvP-enabled, disbanding any cross-faction groups and forcing players to fight alongside their faction. If the boss isn't defeated within two hours, the zone returns to normal. These bosses drop powerful PvE items but also reward Conquest and exclusive PvP gear that updates with each new season, ensuring World Bosses remain both a tactical prize and a battlefield centerpiece.
For those who thrive in chaos, Project Epoch offers a bold path forward—leveling through World PvP. With Warmode enabled, slaying enemy players in the open world grants bonus experience, allowing you to reach level 60 through combat alone. Behind the scenes, this experience gain is dynamically tuned to ensure a fair and intentional leveling pace — rewarding active engagement without allowing exploitation. Whether you're ambushing in contested zones or holding the line for your faction, every skirmish becomes a step toward power.
Contested zones are more than just battlegrounds, they're opportunities. In every such region, faction-specific notice boards can be found offering daily assignments to hunt down members of the opposing side. These missions are only available to those who have enabled Warmode, marking themselves as willing participants in the ongoing war.
Completing a skirmish quest rewards a substantial boost of experience along with a guaranteed cache of Bloody Tokens, making it a reliable path for both leveling and PvP progression.
Volchan was an ancient slumbering stone giant nestled within the mountains of Redridge, until the day Ragnaros was summoned and transformed the region into the fiery expanse now known as the Burning Steppes. Awakened by the devastation, Volchan erupted into a magma giant and now wanders the once peaceful lands bringing ruin to any who cross his path.
As one of the first major world bosses, Volchan is a true test of strength and teamwork for max level players. With his devastating abilities and immense durability, only well coordinated groups of heroes stand a chance against this towering foe. Those who dare to challenge Volchan and emerge victorious will find rewards worthy of his legendary might.
Tensions in the Hillsbrad Foothills have reached a boiling point, and at the heart of it stands the Central Tower — now transformed into a timed battlefield. Every hour, a fresh skirmish erupts as the Horde and Alliance clash for control, with the victor laying claim to more than just pride.
Whichever faction seizes the tower gains access to an exclusive vendor offering limited-time goods, as well as a 10% experience boost for all members of their faction within the zone.
The Scourge invasion may have stalled, but their grip on the Eastern Plaguelands remains ironclad. With Naxxramas yet to rise, the undead forces in the region continue to marshal their strength, reinforcing strongholds and spreading corruption. Both the Horde and the Alliance see the region’s strategic value — not only as a staging ground for future campaigns, but as a vital choke point in stemming the tide of undeath.
Scattered across the zone are four key towers, each one fiercely contested. For every tower your faction controls, all allies in the Eastern Plaguelands gain Echoes of Lordaeron, a stacking buff that increases spell and melee damage against undead foes by 1% per tower. Seize all four, and your forces will fight with a +5% edge — a crucial advantage in the endless war against the Scourge.
The Bloodsail Pirates have a penchant for illicit after-hours activities, especially those involving mass combat and treasure. To see that his crew has its nightly fill of extracurricular entertainment, a lone pirate captain will drop a chest in the center of the Arena starting at midnight, and again every three hours at 3 a.m. 6 a.m. 9 a.m. 12 p.m. 3 p.m. 6 p.m. 9 p.m. and back to midnight the chest drops.
Be the first to get to the chest and loot it - while fighting off everyone else trying to do the same - and you'll reap the reward it holds. Of course, the arena is a PvA area, so there might be other players who are trying to open it first.
